Jewelry Making
When making jewelry either for yourself or for profit, there are a few things to always keep in mind. 1. Use toggles or clasps that do not come undone easily. Many people lose necklaces and bracelets because of clasps and toggles. A toggles bar should always be atleast 2.5X the diameter of the ring. 2. Another way people lose jewelry is by the string/wire breaking. Always use a high-grade wire. 3. When attaching your clasps or toggles use "silver" crimps. Other crimps can crack and break and if you are on the finished end of a piece of jewelry, you will have to start over. 4. Alot of the beads used today are glass. Check through your beads before you start a project to make sure the there isn't one that is chipped or cracked. You will find this happens more with the bugle beads, but can happen to any. You don't want to be half-way through or finished with a piece of jewelry and notice a broken bead. |
